What is the difference between a Conveyancer and a Solicitor? 

Generally speaking, conveyancers only have detailed knowledge in the processes required for the conveyance of property.  On the other hand, solicitors have detailed knowledge of conveyancing as well as property law and a broader knowledge of the law in general.  For this reason, a solicitor can advise their clients not only in relation to all aspects of a conveyance, but also regarding any legal issues that may arise during the transaction, such as tax implications, estate planning implications, or how the sale of a house will impact family law proceedings such as divorce and property settlements.
